a "nation" module on the left sidebar would be very useful. Cultures aren't exactly the same thing.

I would recommend using Cultures or Locations for this.
We are not currently interested in adding new modules unless they provide a substantially unique experience that cannot be gained in another module. There are currently 18, which is already quite a lot to teach new writers who join Campfire! Any more need to be considered carefully and "nations" are too similar to other existing modules.
